My soldier is now within his 90 day countdown.
Three months. Three months and he will leave his COP in Afghanistan and enter a saf(er) zone. Three months and he will get on a plane and meet his mother and me in Italy. Faces fresh with tears of relief, tears of joy, tears of love.
I want to start getting excited now. We’re starting to plan. Wipe all of the dust away before he returns...
